Terms and Consent

ShakeOnIt ("the platform") lets users create and accept one-on-one Challenges ("Calls") on statements with a true or false outcome, putting platform credits (coins) on the outcome. Coins are virtual points with no real-world monetary value; they cannot be cashed out, and no real money is staked or paid out.

If there is no clear, agreed way to determine who won, don't Shake on it - the platform is not responsible for the content, quality, or verifiability of any statement you post or accept. For Calls marked Private Shake, there is explicitly no referee and no dispute option: if both sides disagree, both sides forfeit all their committed credits and dispute deposit, which is retained by the platform. This is automatic and final.

Some Calls and Shakes may require an additional dispute deposit, held alongside your credits, intended to fund review of genuine disagreements. Deposit terms are shown before you confirm a Call or a Shake. For Public Shakes, a genuine disagreement is first reviewed by an AI, which checks the Call's verification link (or a general web search if that's inconclusive) and proposes a verdict; if both sides accept it, it settles immediately at a reduced 2.5% forfeiture. Either side may instead escalate to the platform's dispute team, who make a final decision within 72 hours at the standard 5% forfeiture. In either case, the losing side's forfeited deposit is retained by the platform, and both sides' ratings are updated to reflect the outcome.

You must be at least 18 years old (and old enough in your jurisdiction to enter into this kind of agreement) to use ShakeOnIt. The platform is for adults only. You are responsible for the content of any statement you post or accept, and for confirming it is something a reasonable third party could independently check. Disputes are between users; the platform's decisions about deposits, timeouts, and dispute outcomes are final.

We moderate content. New Future Predictions (Shakes) may be screened automatically before they go live, and we may remove or refuse any Future Prediction, and suspend or ban any account, at our sole discretion - including content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, threatening, or otherwise contrary to our community guidelines. We may take these actions at any time, with or without prior notice. By signing up you consent to this.

We store your account details (name, username, email or phone, and your activity on the platform) to operate the service. We do not sell your personal data.

This platform is provided "as is," under active development, and features and rules may change. A friendly, plain-language walkthrough of how the app works is available from the "How it works" link, but that page is explanatory only. This Terms and Consent document is what actually governs your use of ShakeOnIt.
